About this treatment
Chemical Peels at Amoura are prescription-grade — selected by acid family, pH and concentration based on the client's skin assessment. Superficial peels (glycolic, lactic, mandelic) deliver freshness and brightening; mid-depth peels (TCA, Jessner) target pigmentation, melasma and texture; deep peels address ageing and structural concerns. Each protocol is paired with bespoke aftercare.
biotech The Science
A controlled keratolytic and keratocoagulant reaction. The acid disrupts intercellular bonds in the stratum corneum at a precisely chosen depth — superficial (epidermis only), mid (upper dermis) or deep (mid-reticular dermis). The resulting controlled injury accelerates epidermal turnover, stimulates fibroblast collagen synthesis, and inhibits melanocyte over-activity. Acid selection (AHA, BHA, TCA, retinoic) is dictated by the diagnostic — never one-size-fits-all.

Common questions
Superficial peels often only flake mildly; medium-depth peels may produce visible peeling for 3–5 days — this is desired skin renewal, not damage.
Yes — provided the right acid is chosen. Mandelic, lactic and TCA at correct concentrations are very safe for Fitzpatrick IV–V.
Clinical peels use prescription-grade concentrations under medical supervision with neutralisation timing — exponentially more effective and safer than OTC versions.
Yes — combined with topical lighteners, peels are part of the gold-standard melasma protocol. The Yellow Peel is also an option for deeper cases.
Typically after 7 days post-peel, once the new skin barrier is fully intact.
Superficial peels — no. Medium peels — 2–4 days of social downtime due to flaking is recommended.
