Overview

About this treatment

Laser Toning uses a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm delivered in low-fluence multiple passes. The energy is selectively absorbed by melanin clusters, fragmenting them without thermal damage to surrounding tissue. Over a series, this resolves melasma, dullness, and uneven tone.

biotech The Science

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG emits ultra-short nanosecond pulses at 1064 nm — the wavelength deeply penetrates and is selectively absorbed by melanin (selective photothermolysis). Sub-thermal "toning" fluences fragment melanosomes without heat damage. The pigment particles are then cleared by macrophages and the lymphatic system over weeks. Surrounding skin remains intact.

FAQ

Common questions

No — it only targets excess pigment (melasma, sun damage). Your natural baseline tone is unaffected.

Yes — the 1064 nm wavelength is the gold standard for Fitzpatrick IV–V tones. Toning fluences are intentionally sub-ablative.

Typically 6–10 sessions every 2 weeks, paired with topical lighteners and rigorous SPF.

Pigment reduction is durable, but new melasma can return without strict sun protection. Maintenance every 2–3 months is recommended.

A faint warm prickling — most clients describe it as "snapping rubber bands" but very tolerable. No numbing required.

Yes — immediately. There is zero downtime.
